Linking to Full-Text Articles
Linking to Journal Articles
This page provides instructions on how to create proxied links to full-text journal articles. Proxied links will allow students who are not connected to the campus network to access titles owned by MSUM. This access will require a working barcode.
If an article is available in full-text within one of our databases it is best to link to the article, rather than put it on E-Reserve. This tutorial is intended to help you with the process of linking to full-text articles. Linking to articles can be somewhat cumbersome, with some databases being harder to link to than others. Please contact a librarian if you need any assistance with this task.
To find a full-text article you can search a library database (e.g., JSTOR). Alternatively, if you know of a specific article that you would like to use, you can look up the journal's name in the Library's A to Z E-Journal Directory.
IMPORTANT-
Use the navigation bar on the left side of the page to view instructions for specific databases.
Please note, this list is not comprehensive. Articles from many of our databases can be proxied for easy access. Please contact a librarian if you need assistance with a database that is not on this list.
All proxied links should be tested from an off campus computer prior to sharing them with students.
