Bowker's Books in
Print
Professional bibliographic database with 5 million in-print,
out-of-print, and forthcoming books, audio book, and video titles. While other sources of bibliographic information exist primarily to sell books, audios, videos and other products, R.R. Bowker's primary business is to collect, verify and distribute accurate data to the library, bookstore and publishing industries.
Better still, this data is augmented by functionality that simplifies common tasks for librarians, booksellers and publishers. For example, the list feature can be used by librarians to create customized bibliographies for patrons or purchase lists. Booksellers can create lists for interested customers of titles they may be interested in purchasing in the future. The Forthcoming Book Room tells bookstore patrons when they can expect an anticipated title to be on the shelves. The ability to search for award-winning titles (and books that have been nominated for key awards) helps booksellers and librarians ensure that the best titles are on their shelves.
