Career-Related Skills:

Teaching: 18 semesters and 6 summer sessions experience teaching introductory level earth science and physical geology courses; 4 semesters experience teaching historical geology and environmental geology; 1 semester teaching experience in oceanography, and paleontology; 1 summer session teaching geology field camp and an introductory course on the field geology of Colorado and Utah; 3 intersession courses teaching field geology in the Bahamas; and 15 semesters of experience in laboratory courses and substitute lecturing.
Sequence Stratigraphy: attended the Exxon sequence stratigraphy school and field trip (summer 1991) and advanced sequence stratigraphy school and field trip (summer 1998), and have experience with both subsurface and outcrop applications in carbonates and siliciclastics.
Paleontology: experience with the biostratigraphy and paleoecology of Paleozoic conodonts,  brachiopods, bivalves, and trace-fossils.
Computers: experience with MS-DOS, MAC, Windows, and UNIX operating systems; BASIC, FORTRAN, and HTML programming; image analysis; and extensive experience with statistical analysis, spread sheet, graphics, graphical presentation, image analysis, and word processing software.
Subsurface Methods: experience in core analysis, well log correlations, well log calibration using cores, and basic seismic interpretation and calibration using well logs.
Geologic Mapping and Field Work: experienced at both geologic and facies mapping; 16 summers of field experience mapping and describing sections in Nevada, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Kansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Iowa.
Quantitative Methods: experience with various multivariate statistical methods including cluster analysis, PCA, NMDS, DCA, and CA.
