    I am a Graduate Assistant working with the Learning Communities program this year! I am entering into my final year of the Counseling and Student Affairs graduate program this fall, emphasizing in Student Affairs. I completed my undergraduate degree in Communication at Concordia College Moorhead, and worked as a student Marketing Assistant for 2 years. I love working in Student Affairs, and am also one of the Graduate Assistants for Dragons After Dark. I am very excited to be a part of the Learning Communities program and know that this is going to be an awesome year!

    Hello there, I am Katelyn Marotzke and I am a sophomore here at MSUM. I am an Illustration major and aiming for a minor in Business Entrepreneurship. Along with that, I'm excited to be the dragon mentor for the Art/Art Education Learning Community. I hope to one day score a job with a gaming company as a concept artist. I love to draw, paint, write, create music, and hang out with friends. ​I love working with acrylic paint, watercolors, and painting digitally. I am extremely passionate about visual art, and am excited to learn as much from the students as much as they will hopefully learn from me!

    Hey! My name is Oluwatosin but I go by Tosin. I am the Dragon Mentor for the STEM Learning Community. I am a junior here at MSUM studying Computer Science. I plan to get a Professional Pilot license after graduation and a Master’s in Aerospace and aeronautical Engineering. I love sports, candy and video games. I really like everything that has to do with space and the universe and would really want to walk on the moon one day. I work at the Career Development Center. I love adventures and the adrenaline that comes with trying something new. I pray every day that my dreams become a reality.

    Hello! My name is Jessica Loeffler and I am the Dragon Mentor for the Bioscience/Health and Wellness learning community. I am a junior here at MSUM and I am currently working towards a Biology degree. I have a minor in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology in hopes to become a wildlife biologist; who wouldn’t love to work with sea turtles?? I am also a member of Tri-beta, an honors biology club here at MSUM. This summer, I have been working on research involving hands on experience with painted turtles! MSUM has expanded my knowledge and has opened up to a world full of opportunities.

    Hi! My name is Danielle Stein and I am a junior at MSUM. I am double majoring in Speech Language Hearing Sciences and Spanish. I love to meet new people and travel and I even spent a semester studying in Granada, Spain. It was a blast! I plan to be a bilingual speech therapist and expand my services to the Spanish-speaking population both in the States and abroad. I am the International and Global Connections Dragon Mentor and I am so excited to incorporate different cultures into the college experience of my mentees. I love to laugh, read, ride bike and spend time with family and friends.

    Hi there! My name is Dara Narlock and I’m a sophomore here at MSUM. My major is Elementary Inclusive Education and Special Education and I’d love to be a teacher at a small school in the Minnesota/North Dakota area upon graduation from MSUM. I am a Co-Dragon Mentor for the Education Learning Community. In my spare time I enjoy reading, watching movies, Pinterest, singing, and helping others in any way I can!

    Hi! My name is Brady Vossler, and I’m one of the Dragon Mentors for the Education Learning Community. I’m a sophomore studying Music Education with a Vocal Emphasis. Someday, I hope to teach high school choir! I enjoy making and listening to music, watching The Office, and (oddly enough) shopping. Currently, I’m trying to get an indie/alt. rock band off the ground, but that can be easier said than done! Either way, I’m super excited for what the year holds, and I’m pumped to start another year as a Dragon!

    "Hi! My name is Alexis Hanson, and I am the Dragon Mentor for the Leadership LC. I am a junior here at MSUM and majoring in mathematics education with a special education minor. In addition to my mentor position, I keep busy as a math tutor, PR coordinator for Education Minnesota Student Program, being a member of the Dragon Leadership Program, and actively participating in campus activities and events. I had a great and inspirational experience my freshman year as a mentee of the Leadership LC, and I hope to offer a similar experience for my mentees."

    Hello! My name is David Harvey and I am a sophomore at MSUM. I am a Theater major with an emphasis in Theater Technology, and am also a Film minor. I am this years Dragon Mentor for the Diversity in Action Learning Community. I hope to have a career backstage at some big theater company someday. I love music, reading, art, poetry, talking with people, and jokes. When I’m not doing any of that, I am usually in the theater department either building sets, hanging lights, or helping backstage so that a show can run as smooth as possible. I enjoy working with others and am privileged to serve the Learning Communities as a Dragon Mentor!

    Hello! I am Olivia Droogsma and I am a sophomore this year at MSUM. I am studying Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. With this degree I plan to work for a corporation with a national or global presence.  Other than being the Business Dragon Mentor I am also a Peer Advisor, member of the Dragon Leadership Program, and an office assistant in the School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with friends, watching movies, listening to music, reading, traveling, and trying new things. I am very excited for all of the opportunities and challenges that I will face this year. Go Dragons!

    Hey! My name is Ashley Tuttle and I am a Junior at MSUM. My major is Anthropology with an emphasis in Cultural Anthropology. I really enjoy traveling and experiencing other cultures, so I'm very excited to do something like this for a career. I am a Dragon Mentor for the Exploration learning community, which is for undeclared majors, and I am also an Office Assistant on campus in Grantham Hall. I love being outdoors and being active. A big passion of mine is bowling, and I continue to do it throughout my life!

    Hello there! My name is Ashley Borchardt, and I am the Dragon Mentor for the Honors Learning Community! I am currently a junior at MSUM, and I am studying to double major in Mathematics and Mathematics Education. In addition to being a Dragon Mentor, I am also the president of Math Club (a student organization on campus), a Dragon Ambassador, a peer advisor, and a member of the Honors Executive Council, Student Advisory Board, and the Dragon Leadership Program. As you can probably tell, I love being involved on campus and sporting my Dragon Pride in all different aspects of my life. Through my education, I am working to become a high school mathematics teacher in Minnesota. In my spare time, I love to spend time with family and friends, at the lake, camping, reading, and doing arts and crafts. I have loved my time here at MSUM, and I look forward to all the wonderful things this new year has to offer!

    My name is Rachel Soland and I am a sophomore in the MSUM film department! I am passionate about and try to stay busy by working on all of the film emphases, including editing, directing, acting, and writing. I take a lot of English/writing courses and am involved in theatre to a great extent, both by acting and directing. This year I am the co-president of the Film Loop, which is a great opportunity for any student hoping to expand their knowledge of the film industry. Although I am constantly running from one thing to the next, the film learning community will be a top priority for me this year!

    Hi I'm Eliza Aul and I'm the Speech Language Hearing Science Dragon Mentor! I was in the SLHS LC my freshman year and it had such a big impact on me that I wanted to take the opportunity to give others the same experience! A little bit about me... I grew up in the twin cities but have moved around and graduated from CGB a small school in Graceville, MN. I love to be involved and I'm active in Dragon Ambassadors and the President for NSSLHA.  I like talking, helping others, and getting to know people! I love my position already and can't wait to see what this year brings!

    Hi, my name is Nick Due and I am a junior at MSUM. This is my second year as a dragon mentor for the GCOM/MUS/THR learning community and I am very excited to get the chance to work along side with students who share the same interests that I do. I am from a small town in central North Dakota called Washburn. I’ve always had a passion for the performing arts but especially in music. I am currently an advertising and public relations major and look forward to working in a communications field when I move onto getting a career. I consider myself to be a funny guy and I love to make people laugh and feel included. I can’t wait to spend another year creating memories with the amazing freshman in my learning community!
