    Institute Events

    A complimentary continental breakfast will be served on the first morning of classes. On the second Thursday evening, we will have an end-of-session dinner to celebrate the completion of our training. It will be held off-campus; participants will receive information about location and cost on the first day of classes. We will present a concert at 2:00 on the final day of classes so please bring appropriate dress. We welcome your friends and family as our guests, thereby enhancing our audience.

    What to Bring

    • Folk song collection books and other resource materials
    • Recorder and/or other musical instrument
    • Binder for folk songs
    • Staff paper
    • Tuning fork A or C
    • If you have a laptop, it might also be useful. Basic notation software is advantageous but is not required. If you are staying in the dormitory, you should perhaps bring your keyboard and a fan.


    Accommodations

    Accommodations will be available through campus housing. Food services are available on campus at a reasonable rate and there are several restaurants within walking distance of the campus. The number of rooms is limited. Reserve your room as early as possible! Call 218.477.2118.
