Scanned images seldom do justice to the original photo.   This picture was taken on a beautiful fall day in 1982.  From left to right this is Beau (Shebandewan Sunset), Click (Shebandewan Autumn Sonata) and Maggie (Gandalf's Sassy Sorceress).  Beau and Click are brother and sister, of course.  Maggie came from excellent field trial lines.  She was out of one of the first litters sired by NAFC FC Topbrass Cotton, one of the most accomplished field trial competitors in the history of the breed.  Her dam's lineage contained many other notable golden retrievers.  Breeding isn't everything, however, and each dog is an individual.   Maggie didn't really catch on to the retrieving, obedience and hunting training until she was over two years old.
