kenya17.jpg (18460 bytes) A baboon troop spends much of the day foraging for food.   The animal on the left is an adult male.  Behind him is a female with a youngster riding piggyback.  At Buffalo Springs Reserve in Samburu country they were a real nuisance.  Cabin/tent doors had to be kept closed or the baboons would wander in for a little looting and destruction.  The camp staff wore green coveralls, and baboons would run when they saw someone in green.  They didn't stay away from my front porch until I started throwing rocks at them.  The dining hall was open to the great outdoors to enhance wildlife viewing.  One day we walked in just in time to see a big baboon being chased out of the kitchen.  He went past us at a dead run, vaulting over furniture and over the wall.  No time for a picture!
