Aren't these lion cubs about the cutest things you've ever seen?  I wished that I could have picked one up and hugged it.  Rationally, I knew that would be the equivalent of commiting a very messy suicide.  Note the adult female moving off through the grass.  Lions are completely at ease with tourist vans.  They act as if a vehicle is a harmless but inedible animal.  Note the ruts.  Late rains and no real roads meant that every tourist van tore up more of the ground.  I'll bet the environment was a hideous mess from the air.
