Dithering can sure make a mess out of what was a beautiful blue sky filled with brown boobies and magnificent frigatebirds.  This little mangrove-studded hunk of coral along the barrier reef of Belize is an established bird sanctuary.  What you can't see is that the trees are still full of booby chicks and that there are birds above us and for virtually 360 degrees around us.  From a distance the island looks like it has a cloud of mosquitoes hovering over it.  We tried to keep a respectful distance so that we didn't alarm all of these avian families.  We also stayed on the upwind side!  This island was just a little bit out of our way on the boat trip between Blue Marlin Lodge and the mainland.
