| After over 8 years of hosting "Ascent Into the Maelstrom" for KDSU FM (Fargo, ND), and of co-hosting "Jazz Diversions" prior to "Ascent", change was in the air after a major realignment of the Public Radio stations in North Dakota occurred towards the end of 1998. ND Public Radio, a state-wide network, now can be heard in North Dakota and parts of Montana, South Dakota, and Minnesota. Program Director Bill Thomas accepted my request to host a new program featuring inside/outside, mainstream/nonmainstream, free jazz - the gamut of what most people would consider jazz and freely improvised music. |
