MSU to host annual Fourth of July bash
Moorhead State University will kick off
its 23rd annual old fashioned Fourth of July celebration at 1 p.m. on the
campus mall.
The celebration, which is free and open to the public, features continuous
stage entertainment throughout the afternoon, children's games,
planetarium shows, bingo, music and food booths and refreshments.
A cow-milking contest is being added to this year's entertainment.
Cass-Clay Creamery is co-sponsoring the celebration for the first time
this year.
Other events scheduled are a children's decorated bicycle parade and
contest at 1:30 p.m.; stage entertainment, including Johnny Flag's Fourth
of July Band and vocal, instrumental, kids' and ethnic music; Walt Disney
cartoons showing in the Weld Hall auditorium; stagecoach and pony rides
throughout the campus; a community picnic supper from 5 to 6 p.m.; and a
fireworks display at dusk over Nemzek Field.
Tickets for the picnic are $6 for adults and $4 for children under age 12.
Tickets will be on sale at the central information booth on the day of the
celebration.
