MSU hosts 21st 4th of July fest

Moorhead State University will kick off its 21st annual old fashioned 4th of July celebration at 1 p.m. on the campus mall.

The festival will feature continuous stage entertainment along with children's games, Walt Disney cartoons, bingo and music, as well as refreshments at old fashioned prices.

A highlight will be a performance by Up With People titled "Rhythm of the World" and featuring more than 100 students from 17 countries. They will perform in the afternoon and give a full stage show at 8 p.m. at Nemzek Field before the fireworks display.

A community picnic supper will be served from 5 to 6 p.m.. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

The celebration will end at dusk with a fireworks display over Nemzek Field. All entertainment except the community picnic is free and open to the public.
