Instructional Technology Advisory Committee
Request for Proposals
The Instructional Technology Advisory Committee is seeking
mini-grant proposals for the innovative use of instructional
technology.
Goal:
Foster student learning through the effective use of
instructional technologies.
Timetables:

Proposals are sought to
-
Use new interactive whiteboard technology
-
Create podcasts for instructional use
-
Implement and use computer lab classroom control software
-
Use wireless tablets for instruction
-
Create a series of lessons/activities for using virtual
environments such as Second Life
-
Use virtual classroom software (Wimba) to connect with remote
students via computer and voice over the internet and/or to
provide interaction with experts in a particular area of study
-
Use MSUM’s wiki environment for instructional purposes
-
Use MSUM’s blog environment to interact with experts in the
field, encourage informal writing, etc.
-
Use wireless tablets for classroom interaction.
-
Use tablet PC’s in instructional settings.
-
Other ideas such as software licensing, equipment related to
instructional technology, etc.
Requirements:
Proposal Format
– Fill in the electronic form

Description of proposed instructional activity / project (2-3
paragraphs)
o
Description of benefit to students
o
Timeline for project (must be completed by May 30, 2008)
o
Equipment / software / support needs (may include requests for
student technology team assistance)
o
Budget
Final Reporting / Sharing
o
Recipients will agree to encourage students to report their
experiences with the technology on a blog site designed and
maintained by the ITAC.
o
Recipients will provide a final report describing the results of
the project and results of the survey/evaluation by students
o
Recipients will present their work at an MSUM workshop or MSUM
Instructional Technology Conference or MSUM faculty development
event.
