About DragonNet Wireless Network

DragonNet wireless network is an extension of the campus network that provides students, faculty, and staff with 802.11b/g/n compatible wireless access to the campus network and the Internet.

 

Wireless Coverage and Facilities Information
Wireless access covers:

  • Bridges 1st floor (center)

  • CA Art Rooms 163, 167 & 168 - Gaede & Hansen Theatres

  • Center for Business Atrium

  • CMU second floor

  • Dragon Den

  • Grier Hall

  • Link between Frick and Maclean

  • Lommen 1st floor (west end)

Wireless Usage Requirements
In order to configure for and use wireless, you must:

  • Be in a wireless enabled facility
  • Be a current student, faculty, or staff member at MSUM
  • Have a valid MSUM email username and password.
  • Have Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later. Note: Windows 95, 98, NT, and ME may work, but support will be limited from technical staff.
  • Have installed and configured a 802.11b/g/n compatible wireless network card or have 802.11b/g/n capabilities built-in to your laptop or hand-held device. It must also be capable of supporting VPN software. A 802.11a wireless card will not work.
  • Linux support is provided by the Computer Science Department. Please see the link below for requirements.
