MSUM has volume license pricing agreements for software that is installed on university computers. Under the volume pricing agreement, departments purchase a reduced cost license only (no disks or documentation) through IT. When the license arrives, IT will make arrangements for installation. For more information email alm@mnstate.edu . Software available includes:

    • Adobe Products
    • Macromedia Products (now owned by Adobe)
    • Microsoft Products not included in Campus Agreement
    Employee "Work-At-Home" Software Access

MSUM permanent employees have "Work-At-Home" access to a limited group of products.  Employees may check out software from the IT department for antivirus programs.

Through eSoftware employees may purchase installation media for Microsoft software covered by the "Work-At-Home" agreements. The software available under this access is subject to certain restrictions, so please read the restrictions carefully. Software available is:

    • Microsoft Office
    • Microsoft Front Page
    • Microsoft Visual Studio

The eSoftware storefront also has Microsoft software available for employees to purchase for personal use at reduced cost.

AVG offers free antivirus software for personal use from Grisoft. This product is a good choice for student-owned computers and employee-owned computers that are not eligible for Virex or Symantec.
