Maple Site License Agreement FAQ

Minnesota State University Moorhead has purchased a site license for Maple, a program for mathematics, modeling and simulation. The following are frequently asked questions about Maple software use.

 

What does the Maple Site License provide?

The Maple Site License gives the university the right to install and run Maple software on all university-owned computers for the length of the contract. It also allows university students and faculty to run the software on home computers.

 

Can I install Maple on my home computer?

Under the Maple Site License, university students and faculty may install the software on a laptop or home computer.

 

What operating systems are supported by Maple?

As of August 2007, Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 2000 are supported. Intel Macs running MacOS 10.4.4 or later and G4 and G5 Macs running MacOS 10.3.9 or later are supported.

 

Will Maple run on my computer?

Maple requires specific computer resources and may not run well on some older computers. The Maple system requirements are available online.

 

How can I get Maple for my home computer?

You may download the software and install it. You must login with your Dragon ID and PIN and complete the Users Acceptance Form prior to downloading the software. Installation instructions are available online.

 

How can I get Maple installed on my office computer?

If you would like to have Maple installed on your university office computer,  email support@mnstate.edu or call the Information Technology Department.

 

What kind of support will the Information Technology Department provide if I have problems with my home computer?

Support for home computers will be limited to allowing you to download the software again to reinstall the software.
