About the University of Lincoln

Earn academic credit through MSUM while studying at the University of Lincoln.

MSUM has an exciting exchange program available to students in mass communications.  Students at MSUM will be able to exchange places with students from the University of Lincoln in the United Kingdom for a semester in the spring or possibly for a full year.  Students pay tuition and fees at their home institution.

Mass Communications students will take courses and live at the newly developed campus, located in the historical city of Lincoln.  the campus sites on the banks of a marina, once a Roman port, and is overlooked by one of the most beautiful and imposing cathedrals in the world.  It is also just a few minutes walk from the city center.  Facilities are brand-new, state-of-the-art, having been constructed within the past few years.  The university itself, however, has a long tradition dating back 130 years.  Its origin can be traced to the original Hull School of Art, which opened in 1861, and until recently the University operated (and still does) from principle locations in Hull and Grimsby.

Lincoln is situated 135 miles north of London, and is easily accessed by public transportation.  It is a city steeped in history, with fragments of its Roman origins surviving, as well as reminders of its medieval heyday.

Academics

Depending on the discipline, students will study through a combination of lectures, workshops, seminars and tutorials, as well as practical projects, presentations, and written work.  Students are expected to select courses that constitute a full-time load of 10 units, which will be the equivalent of 15/16 MSUM credits, and should work closely with their faculty advisor when choosing courses.  However, students must be flexible enough to accommodate any changes in course offerings and differences in teaching styles.

University programs are housed in buildings spread throughout the city. Transportation between various sites is convenient through the use of city or shuttle buses. Students involved in the program will be housed in dormitories generally within walking distance of the major department.

Tuition and Costs
