
Add Events
From your course home click on Open My
Calendar button. This will take you to the main calendar screen.
- Click on Add Event.
- Type the title of your event in the
Title field.
- Choose a date by using either the
drop-down boxes or by clicking on the small calendar image beside the
drop-downs.
- Choose Personal from the choices
below. This will ensure that the event is personal and will not be shown to
other users.
- In the Description text area, type
a description.
- Click Save.
You have now returned to the main calendar screen. You
will see that date is now bolded and in blue. This means that you have a
personal event scheduled for that date.
Known Problems:
Why can't I remove events from the calendar?
Working with calendar events that originate from another
tool (e.g., Grades, Quiz, Dropbox) can be tricky.

Be aware of the Start Date and
End Date restrictions of that event. If an event is
associated with an item in another tool, such as a quiz, the date
restrictions of that quiz can determine when the associated event will
display in calendar.

Be aware of other restrictions. For example, in this
particular situation, the items cannot be deleted because they are
linked to folders in the Dropbox where the checkbox Add Event to
Calendar (optional) is not checked. To remove these items from
the calendar, make sure this checkbox is turned on first.

If you are going to remove an item in another tool
that is associated with a calendar event, make sure the calendar event
is removed first. For example, if you are going to delete a folder in
the dropbox, make sure the associated item on the calendar is removed
beforehand. If done the other way around, that is, you deleted the
dropbox folder first, you will be unable to delete the associated event
from the calendar.
