Why go through the hassle of subleasing off-campus? Once you factor in travel time, safety, cable, internet, and utilities, living on-campus for the summer is less expensive than most off-campus accommodations. Plus, it's all conveniently billed to your eServices account.Summer housing in Grantham Hall and the John Neumaier apartments are within walking distance of classrooms, the library, computer labs, Student Union and Wellness Center. Living on-campus for the summer has other advantages as well. All locations:
A contract plus a $50 prepayment must be completed for summer housing. If you are not contracted for Fall 2014, you must check out of your room by August 8, 2014 at 7pm.
If you are enrolled for fall semester AND you have a housing contract for fall, you may stay through the interim (August 9 – August 19) by paying an additional 1.5 weeks at the summer housing rate. At the beginning of August you will be notified by Summer Housing Staff when you will be able to move into your fall room assignment. Students must make payment in full by June 16, 2014. Payment must be completed (paid in full) by July 5, 2014 in order to move into fall housing. Contact the Financial Aid Office at 218.477.2251 to determine summer financial aid eligibility. Interim Housing Dates: August 9 — August 19, 2014. Interim housing is available only for those students who have a fall room assignment. All other students must be checked out by 7pm on the last day of their summer school class.
To be eligible for summer housing, all previous housing charges must be paid in full and your account must be free of any holds. Any MSUM student must be enrolled in at least one summer class or registered for Fall 2014 classes to live in summer housing. The following forms of payment will be accepted: cash, money order, check, and credit card (MasterCard, Visa and Discover). A $50 administrative fee will be charged for any contract cancellation. Our billing cycle runs weekly (begins on Saturday and ends on Friday). Therefore, if you check out of your room later than Friday, you will be charged for an additional week. There is not a daily rate.Rooms in Dahl and Grantham Hall are not air conditioned. Residents may not provide their own air conditioners. Grantham Hall will be utilized for summer housing; Dahl Hall will be utilized for Summer Conferences.A MicroFridge will be available upon request, pending availability, free of charge during Summer Housing. If you would like a MicroFridge, please request it on your summer housing contract or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. A fee of $25 will be assessed for any MicroFridge that is not defrosted and/or cleaned at check-out time.

To be eligible for John Neumaier summer housing, students must be current residents of John Neumaier and enrolled in a minimum of one summer class, or have an assignment in John Neumaier for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Summer housing check-in begins Friday, June 1, 2014 at 5pm. If you need summer housing accommodations until you are able to check-in to your apartment, you will need to apply/contract to live in Dahl/Grantham Hall for the interim. Please refer to the Residence Hall—Summer Housing Rates.
John Neumaier summer housing ends on July 31, 2014. If you are not staying with us in the fall, you need to be checked out of your apartment by noon on this day.
Friday, April 25, 2014: For those currently living in John Neumaier, to keep your same apartment for Summer 2014, your Summer contract + $50 prepayment must be submitted prior to this date.
Monday, April 28, 2014: For those living in John Neumaier Fall 2014, if you would like to live in an apartment for Summer 2014, your application/contract + $50 prepayment must be submitted during this week.
*Depending on the number of residents in one apartment, depends on how much it costs per resident (i.e. 2 residents would pay $1,089/each or 4 residents would pay $544.50 each).
Summer housing check-in will begin at 5pm on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Nelson/Grantham Desk.
If you are currently living on campus, be sure to have your current room clean and ready for check out by 5pm on Saturday, May 17, 2014. You will receive your keys for summer housing at the Nelson/Grantham Desk and you can move your belongings and be ready for housing staff to check you out of your current room. Check out must be completed by 5pm on Sunday, May 18, 2014.
We will begin making summer room assignments the week of April 28, 2014.
