Fall 2010 Move-In Information

Residence Halls open August 18th, 2010 at 9:00am!

  • How do I know my room assignment?
Your room assignment will be available in your EServices account.  Simply login to EServices with your Dragon ID and password and click on 'Housing and Dining' on the left hand side of the screen.  Once you have a room assignment, your screen will say 'View your Assignment.'

  • Where do I check in?
Go to the front desk of the hall in which you are assigned.  Here you will receive your check-in paperwork, map, and room keys.
  • Where should we park?
Parking will be available in designated lots on move-in day.  Student volunteers will guide you to the appropriate parking spot for your building.
  • Can I bring a loft?
If you are living in Nelson, Ballard or South Snarr, you may loft your bed.  Lofts are available through CSI Lofts of Moorhead.  To rent a loft, please visit: http://www.csilofts.com/  or see the CSI brochure. The deadline to rent a loft is August 14, 2010.  After this date, extra lofts are available on move-in day on a first come, first serve basis.  Other purchased or made lofts are not permitted.  Only lofts through CSI Lofts are permitted in the residence halls.
If you have rented a loft, you can pick it up in Parking Lot E on move-in day.
If you are living in Grantham hall, your bed has lofting capabilities built into it.  You do not need to purchase a separate loft.
  • What size sheets do I need?
With the exceptions of Grantham and East Snarr Halls, all of our mattresses are standard size twin mattresses and standard sheets will fit.  Grantham Hall and East Snarr have extra long twin mattresses.  Students in other halls, with the exception of Dahl Hall, may request an extra long mattress on a first come first served basis.  Send an e-mail to reslife@mnstate.edu to request an extra long mattress.
  • How do I rent a microfridge?  Microfridges are rented beginning August 18th from 9:00am - 8:00pm on a first come, first serve basis.  They are available for rental in the Snarr Hall Lounge for $75.00 per semester.  The amount will be charged to your student account each semester.

  • Renter's Insurance
We strongly encourage students to pursue renters insurance.  You may arrange for renter's insurance through your own insurance company, or through National Student Services, Inc.  MSUM does not insure personal belongings in student rooms.  While we hope students will never need to file a renter's insurance claim, it is important to be prepared just in case.
