Education:   Graduated from Moorhead State University in May of 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in physics, with a minor in astronomy and concentrations in math and computer science.

MSUM work history:   Started work at MSUM in the fall of 1994 as a laboratory assistant in the Physics/Astronomy department and Novell network administrator in the Computer Science and Information Systems department; working 1/2-time at each location.

In 1998, the Computer Services department hired me as a full time network administrator.  The department has since been renamed to Information Technology , and my responsibilities here include supervision of the campus Novell network, management of our approximately 300 networked printers, as well as management of our tape backup system, which is really a disk-to-disk-to-tape backup system that covers about 55 servers.  I also manage or assist in managing several of our Microsoft Windows and Linux servers (Gentoo, Redhat, SuSE).
