AUDREY ZUBE JONES
FAMILY HISTORY AWARD
2007 Twenty-sixth Annual Award

Because Commission members are vitally interested in the results of family history research and because they believe all participants in Family History Workshops are also interested, the Heritage Education Commission has established the Audrey Zube Jones Award for printed or duplicated family histories. The winners of this award will be announced during the luncheon at the 32nd Annual Family History Workshop on October 6, 2007, and the winning books or pamphlets will be placed in the Commission's permanent collection. There is a $25.00 honorarium to the winner of this award. All entries will be displayed in the Family History Booth during the workshop, and those entries not purchased will be returned to the owners only if adequate postage and mailer are provided.

Participants may submit books more than once. Since an unusual number of fine books may be submitted in any one year, books not purchased one year may receive a purchase award another year. The Commission welcomes donations of entries if owners do not wish to resubmit them for the award.

GENERAL RULES:

  1. Entries should be submitted with a completed entry form to the Heritage Education Commission, Box 82, Minnesota State University Moorhead, Moorhead, MN 56563.
Participants should not, of course, submit their only copy of a Family History.
  2. Entries must be received by September 6, 2007.
  3. Entries must be in printed or duplicated form.
  4. All sources must be carefully documented. Copyrighted material must include a note indicating copyright owner’s permission to republish. If there are any questions, contact Chandice Johnson, 705  13th  Avenue N., Apt. 223, Fargo, N.D. 58102-2680; email: chandice@msn.com; phone: (701) 280-0180.
  5. Award winners must submit a completed entry form which clarifies copyright ownership issues and defines the terms and conditions under which their winning entry is donated to the Heritage Education Commission.
  6. Judges reserve the right to withhold an award for any particular year.
