Dragon Wellness Center

Policies

The purpose of these policies is to provide guidelines for the users of Dragon Wellness facility. Our goal is to create a safe and enjoyable environment for participants of the center.

General Policies

  • The Dragon Wellness Center is a controlled access building. All participants must check into facility at the front desk with proper MSUM ID
  • No pets are allowed in building (except guide dogs assisting a disabled person)
  • Dragon Wellness Center operates on an "exercise at you own risk" policy
  • The possession or use of alcohol or illegal drugs is prohibited. 
  • All types of tobacco use are prohibited
  • Indecent or profane language is inappropriate
  • Individuals who damage the facilities, or fail to follow the established policies maybe asked to leave the building or lose their right to use the facility
  • Staff reserves the right to ask for additional identification at any time
  • Use of cell phones and pagers is not permitted while using equipment
  • The use of cellular telephones and devices with video or photographic capabilities are not permitted within locker room, gym, and fitness areas
  • Personal headsets are allowed but portable stereos are prohibited
  • Bicycles, skateboards and roller blades are not allowed in the Dragon Wellness Center
  • No signs, posters or advertisements may be placed in the Dragon Wellness Center without prior staff approval
  • Use of the Dragon Wellness Center is a privilege, individuals not cooperating with established policies may be asked to leave or may have privileges revoked

Guests

  • All guests must be 16 years of age or older
  • Guests must register at the Dragon Wellness Center front desk and sign a waiver form
  • Members must check in at the same time as the guest and remain at the facility the entire time the guest is there
  • Members are responsible for the actions of their guests. If a guest does not adhere to the policies of the wellness facility, the member and guest may be asked to leave
  • Guest passes cost $3.00/visit
Attire and Footwear
  • Appropriate attire and footwear must be worn when using the Dragon Wellness Center. A SECOND pair of clean, dry shoes are required in the Dragon Wellness Center.
  • Shirts and shoes must be worn in activity areas. (A shirt reduces skin contact with equipment and reduces the spread of germs and body oils, which accelerate equipment deterioration). Belts, metal zippers, studs etc. are prohibited as they can damage the exercise equipment and pose a risk of injury. 
  • Court shoes must be worn for court activities. Shoes that mark floors, open toes shoes, heeled shoes and turf shoes are prohibited in court and exercise area.
  • Jewelry which may cause equipment damage or pose a risk of injury should be removed, users may be asked to remove items that pose a danger to self or others
Personal Hygiene
  • Members are expected to maintain proper hygiene while using the Dragon Wellness Center
  • Workout towels are provided for participants. Please use a towel to wipe clean the equipment after use.  Please return the towel to the appropriate receptacle when finished
Food/Beverage
  • Water in closed containers may be used in the exercise or gym area
  • Juice and sports drinks are only permitted in the main entrance areas
  • No gum is allowed in exercise or gym areas
  • Food maybe consumed in the main entrance. Food is prohibited in the exercise, locker room and gym areas
Equipment Checkout
  •  Members may check out equipment free of charge with I.D. at the front desk. I.D. will be returned to the individual when equipment is returned
  •  The equipment is for use in the Dragon Wellness Center and should be returned to the front desk before leaving the facility
  •  The person checking out the equipment is responsible for the items. If the equipment is lost, damaged or not returned the individual who checked it out is responsible for the costs. General wear and tear on equipment is the responsibility of the Wellness Center.
Lockers
  •  Lockers are available to members
  •  Lockers are one-day use.  
  • All locks and contents must be emptied daily - items and locks that are left will be removed by staff at the end of the day
  •  Dragon Wellness Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items
Towels
  • Shower towels are availableat the front desk with an I.D. Shower towels must be returned to front desk
  • Workout towels are available throughout the facility. Used workout towels may be placed in receptacles located in locker rooms, exercise room or near the front desk
Lost and Found
  • Contact front desk personal about lost items
  • Items not claimed within 30 days will be given to a charity
  • Dragon Wellness Center is not responsible for lost items
Fitness Room
  • Workout clothing must be worn
  • Machines and weights should be used with care. Dropping weights and plates can cause injury or equipment damage
  • When using free weights, use collars on all weights
  • Users should always inspect equipment for frayed, worn or loose parts
  • Users should report any equipment that is malfunctioning to the front desk
  • Personal property (backpacks, sports bags etc) should not be left in the fitness/exercise area
  • Users need to adhere to posted time limits for machines when others are waiting
  • Users must follow the instructions on the cards attached to each machine regarding the use of the equipment
  • Chalk is prohibited
Open Gym
  • Court may be reserved for activities by contacting the Dragon Wellness Center front desk
  • There is no fee for court reservations
  • Hanging on the rims, dunking or hanging on the nets is prohibited because of the risk of damaging the equipment and the risk of personal injury. Persons violating this policy will be asked to leave the facility
  • Spitting on the walls, floors or in the exercise room is prohibited
  • Court reservations not claimed within 15 minutes after the reserved time will be forfeited
  • Courts may be reserved for up to 2 hours at a time, (Dragon Wellness Center reserves the right to book the open gym for larger blocks of time for specific trainings and activities)
  • Damage report forms must be completed previous to reserved activity and following completion of activity. Any damage that occurs is the responsibility of individual reserving the court.
