Goodworks To Head Do-Good
Counseling Program
Outback,
MN – Angela Q. Goodworks, MSW, LAC, has been named
Senior Director of Counseling for Do-Good Human
Services, Inc. (DGHSI). She was one of 5 finalists
from IN, TX, MN, AZ, ND and DC interviewed by the
board October 10. We are delighted
that she accepted our offer.
Our
new Director will testify about the need for more
community-based Youth Counseling Services on behalf
of DGHSI at a County Commission meeting at
12 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2006.
"Agencies
like our Human Service organizations are seeing a tremendous increase in people
who need counseling," she says. "More than
50% have no health insurance or have inadequate
coverage for mental illness. With incomes of fifteen
thousand dollars or less, these people have no way
to pay for Counseling Services for their children or
themselves."
Mrs.
Goodworks, a native of Minneapolis MN, earned her
Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work and
English from the State University of Dilworth, and
her Master of Social Work from the University of
Timbuktu. She is a Licensed Addiction Counselor.
Mrs.
Goodworks and her husband Myron have two daughters,
Miracle, age seven, and Delight, age three. Her
family will relocate to Outback in
December of 2005.
Do-Good
Human Services works with at-risk young people and their
families in the tri-county area. 90% of its patients are between the ages
of ten and sixteen.
