the only part of the exam I was confused on was my preparation for the essay. I misunderstood the essay quesstions with regards to having a choice of questions to respond to. I understood that we were going to be given passages that we could apply one of four essay questions that we chose to the passage. It wasn't difficult the way it was done however I was more prepared for the other way. I chose a question and concentrated on those apsects from each author. -+*
Narrow down the word list from 50 to 25, so it's not so many to remember. 50 definitions are a lot to remember even in 7 weeks that we had.
Explicating to the point of making an entire essay seems like too much. A proper essay, written well, takes more than simply 50 minutes. I agree some explication should definately be involved in testing for the class. However, an essay should not be created with haste.
With all that was required to be completed, I did not feel there was enough time to finish everything satisfactory. The first two parts were the only realy thing that could be studied for and I could have done more studying to speed up that portion of the test.
I think the test was fair. I wish I would have used more of my time for the essay, but that is my own fault. The only thing that was a little unexpected was the fact that the "genre" essay question was the only option. I would have liked the oportunity to answer one of the other essays that had been given on the web site. I think some of the other essay questions were more interesting and would have been more fun to write about.
That the students can pick there own twenty words to use for the vocab part.
Although i thought it was a fair test, it maybe could have been more fair. Less points given to the explication essay would have made me feel better about because I am not yet confident in my logical writing ability
I was actually surprised that the exam turned out to be exactly what we were prepared for. Most of the time exams turn out to be either way harder or way easier than we students had been lead to believe.
