One Week Can Change Your Life Forever!
Looking for something challenging, exciting, and different to do on your next spring break? Put down your books, pick up a hammer and start building with Habitat for Humanity's Collegiate Challenge and do something productive over break. You are guaranteed to have a great time while helping someone in need. Groups of ten are sent out to affiliates throughout the country that need our help.
We drive to our destination in a fabulous 12 passenger van. We usually stay in a church or other homes provided. We pound nails, put shingles on, paint, etc. We do just about everything. If you have some sort of previous experience, that is great. You don't need experience to have a good time. The staff on site will teach you everything you need to know about construction, and a lot about life. Going on a Collegiate Challenge Trip is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have.
Over the year we will raise money to bring the individual cost of the trip down, and also work on name recognition of MSUM's campus chapter.
Spring 2009 trips: March 13 - 22 Locations: Paterson, New Jersey; Corpus Christi, Texas; Sisters, Oregon; Sacramento, California; Lee County/Fort Myers, Florida
**The Florida trip is now full, but all other trips have some spots available (only trip leader/driver spots available on the Oregon trip).**
Be sure to attend upcoming meetings in order to get more information about these sites and payment schedules. Also, keep in mind that if you attend 4 meetings this semester, you get to sign up early for your trip - a great incentive!
This year's Spring Break trips have changed a bit from last year, as we're now using 12 passenger vans instead of 15, and only 8 participants per trip. That's why there are now 5 destinations instead of 4. The cost will remain at $300 for regular participants and around $245 for trip leaders, since we are increasing our fundraising efforts.
