- A Los Angeles-based non-profit organization founded in 1993 with ties all across the country. It emphasizes minority training.

- Federal Courts Finder
- Provides access to decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as those of the 12 federal circuit courts.
- The Federal Court Locator
- From the Villanova Center for Information Law & Policy: information on the federal judiciary, including Slip opinions.
- Federal Election Commission
- Summary reports of candidate expenditures and receipts.

- This site, a service of the Villanova Center for Information Law & Policy, enables a person to easily access the government Web site he/she needs.
- FedWorld
- A service of the National Technical Information Service to enable online access to U.S. government information. Telnet and FTP sites included.
- Finding Data on the Internet
- A great site for public affairs reporting. It provides links to potential story data and explains statistics every writer should know: mean, mode, median, standard deviation, level of significance, etc.
- FINWeb
- Pointers to financial and economic information from both business and academic sites.
- First Amendment CyberTribune
- Charles Levendosky, editorial page editor of the Casper, Wyo., Star-Tribune operates this site to link groups interested in censorship, FOI and the First Amendment.
- First Headlines
- 1stHeadlines provides a central location to easily scan the headlines from more than 50 top newspaper, broadcast and online news sources and quickly view current news events from the regional perspective offered by multiple news organizations. 1stHeadlines is updated continuously, 24 hours a day.
- FOI Foundation of Texas ; NFOIC and The Reporters' Network
- The Reporters' Network has sponsored this foundation to provide assistance on issues relating to Texas Public Information Act , the Texas Open Meeting Law and the federal FOI Act. The second site takes you to the National Freedom of Information Coalition. The third site maintains the most comprehensive e-mail directory of reporters, editors, broadcasters, free-lance writers and other news professionals on the Internet.

- The Gallup Organization
- Gallup offers new stories on current polling data five days a week, along with searchable archives of polling content for the last two years. In the future, it will offer the ability to access the Gallup database with 65 years of public opinion research data.
- Gebbie Press: Daily Newspapers on the Web.
- The "Blue Ribbon" list of U.S. daily newspapers on the Web compiled by Mark Gebbie, Gebbie Press. He has also completed a list of 539 TV stations on the Web (U.S.A.), with 526 E-mail addresses appropriate for news releases or general station contact. A similar, but larger (2,030) list of radio stations with 1,000 plus E-mail addresses also exists.

- A very useful service from ARRAY Development Inc., Ottawa, to link yourself to global media, including Asiaweek, Far Eastern Economic Review and other newsmagazines.
- Government Information Sharing Project
- A compilation of information databases sharing governmental information in three areas: demographics, economics and education.
- GPO Access
- Access to U.S. Government Printing Office database. It provides full-text searching and downloading to: the Federal Register, the Congressional Record, Congressional bills, public laws, history of bills and GAO reports.
- Green Bay News-Chronicle
- The newspaper of the home city of Green Bay (Wis.) Packers.
- Health and Human Services
- Consumer and policy information, as well as links to other health-related government sites. Technical terms linked to the National Library of Medicine's Entrez glossary.
- Health Writer
- A selective list of Internet resources for journalists writing on health and medicine-- a site put together by Linda Wasmer Smith, a freelance journalist specializing in health, medicine, mental health, and general science.

- In-Forum
- The Web site of The (Fargo, N.D.) Forum, the major daily in North Dakota with the primary circulation in the Fargo-Moorhead metro area. In-Forum is its online edition.

- A worldwide directory: telephone, e-mail, fax, net phones, businesses, blue pages, etc.
- International Center for Journalists
- Information on ICJ's workshops, seminars and conferences. Also provides a database and a newsletter on the East European press.
- Internet Advertising Resource Guide
- Hairong Li, Michigan State University, maintains these links to advertsing resources categorized under six headings: introduction, development, management, planning, research and teaching.
- The Internet Public Library
- This site organizes books and reference collections into rooms and stacks: reference, youth, literature, etc. It also provides links to searchable indexes and downloadable texts.
- Investigative Reporters & Editors
- This site provides access to The IRE Journal, NICAR (computer-assisted reporting), the IRE Resource Center and the IRE newsgroups.

- Journalism and the Internet
- Tyrone Prather and Kiffen Hsieh, two print-journalism students from Stanford University, have developed this resource site for the "nascent journalists."
- Journalism Sites on Yahoo
- Displays the Yahoo matches containing journalism.
- Journalist's Toolbox
- Features more than 16,000 web sites helpful to the media and anyone else doing research. Use the pulldown menu or search engine to locate information from a variety of beats and news industry-related topics.
- Lawyers Legal Research

- For the latest news, primary sources, information resources, cultural news and useful tools. Avi Bass, Northern Illinois University, maintains this site.
- NewsWorks
- The NewsWorks network is an alliance of over 130 of the country's best-known newspaper Web sites. NewsWorks offers its visitors the ability to search for news across the entire network of sites. That means visitors who search for news stories get results from more than 25,000 qualified, accredited journalists from America's best publications.
- NICAR
- The National Institute for Computer-Assisted Reporting provides listings of government databases and information on C.A.R. training programs.
- Northscape News
- The online site of The Grand Forks Herald, a Knight-Ridder newspaper.
- OFFSTATS
- A central source for links to official international statistics from the University of Auckland Library. Global, regional, and national statistics are available in a wide range of topic areas including demographics, economics, finance, crime, and religion. Searchable. Examples of statistics providers include the UN, World Bank, US Census Bureau, and the OECD.

- Public Agenda Online provides in-depth, objective research for journalists on public opinion and public policy. It's a branch of the Public Agenda Foundation, which does nonpartisan public opinion research.
