Out of State Students
Minnesota has tuition reciprocity agreements with North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Manitoba. Reciprocity forms are available from the Records Office for completion and submission to the student's home state/province. North Dakota and South Dakota rates usually are the same as Minnesota in-state tuition; Wisconsin's rate is slightly different.
NOTE: Students from non-reciprocity states qualify for resident tuition. All states, same low rate! For more information, click here.
Financial Aid
Funding for graduate students is usually in the form of graduate assistantships or student loans. Two types of graduate assistantships are available at MSU Moorhead - university funded or need-based jobs. Both require 5-10 hours or work per week and provide an opportunity for gaining experience in the field of major interest and working with faculty in the discipline. Some assistantships are supported by university funds. Unlike state and federal work fund programs, these assistantships are not contingent upon demonstrated financial need. Assistantships funded through state and federal work programs require students to apply for financial aid and demonstrate financial need. Federal Stafford Student loans also require students to complete the financial aid process and have eligibility determined.
How to Apply: All students who are interested in attending MSU Moorhead are encouraged to apply for financial aid as early as possible after January 1. Graduate students are considered independent students for financial aid purposes and do not have to provide parental information. Financial aid application materials for student loans and work funded assistantships are available from the Financial Aid Office, 107 Owens. Tel. # (218) 477-2251.
Foreign Applications
Persons who do not have USA citizenship but are interested in applying to the MSU Moorhead School Psychology Program need to follow the International Student admissions process outlined in the MSU Moorhead International Programs website.
