begins.
You may consult
any notes that you have written on one piece of paper (standard 8
1/2" by 11" size)
You will be graded on
clarity, accuracy, and completeness of your responses. Completeness
includes your ability to define any specialized vocabulary taught in
this course.
- How does prioritization of beneficence
over nonmaleficence combine
to generate Loeb's defense of current practices in research
involving animals? How does it affect the debate concerning West
Virginia's new Medicaid policy?
- If respect for autonomy is given
highest priority, what moral position should be taken concerning the
sale of human organs for transplantation? What moral position should
be taken concerning West Virginia's new Medicaid policy?
- Should the United States allow "trafficking" in organs for
transplant? Should the United States prohibit medical experiments on
non-human mammals? Show that a consistent prioritization of basic
principles supports your position on both topics.
