The Fourth Annual Patterns in Permutations Conference was held in Reykjavik, Iceland. The organizers put together a fabulous day trip around the golden triangle. On the trip we saw Pingvillyr (pronounced thingvitlier), which was the place where the first parliament of Iceland met around 930 A.D. The next stop was Gollfoss, a beautiful waterfall. Finally, we arrived at a bed of hotsprings where we saw the geysir, called Geysir, after which all geysirs are named. Geysir isn't active any longer, but another geysir, Strokkur, erupts every 5 to 10 minutes. Most of my pictures are of the excursion around the golden triangle. A few of them are from Reykjavik itself.
