PubMed [Medline]
This vast database by the U.S. National Library of Medicine recently gained a new interface described at the site as "a single search interface with pull-down menus that display search field limits, indexes, your search history, and a clipboard for gathering selected articles."

Sociological Abstracts and Social Services Abstracts

Provided in collaboration with NDSU, CSA Sociological Abstracts is a primary resource for accessing the latest research sponsored in sociology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences, and is updated monthly.  The database draws information from an international selection of over 2,600 journals and other serials publications, plus conference papers, books, and dissertations.  Records added after 1974 contain in-depth and nonevaluative abstracts of journal articles.
