eFolio Minnesota is a system developed by MnSCU for use by any Minnesotan, including students and staff of any Minnesota University.  The eFolio is a great way to keep track of your academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular involvement.  If you start developing your eFolio this first semester on campus, you will have a complete record when you graduate to help you in the search for your first professional career.  At that time, you can use your eFolio as part of your job search process.

Highlights:

  • There are 3 versions available: student, teacher, worker (all are very similar).
  • Each version has 20 design templates, some with multiple color options.
  • You may design sections to include various types of information.
  • Each section includes easy means to add documents, related links, audio, video, sidebars,  and images.
  • Each site has a 3 MB limit.  If you're going to  include anything large, like video clips, it's probably best to house them on another site and link from your eFolio.
  • Security features allow any portions of your site to have access protected by password.  On Diane's site, under "FYE Passport Example"  there is an example of of protected information.  Click on the subsection  "Security Example" and login using username: example and password: fye.
  • The person who initially requests the site is considered the owner, and is responsible for all content.
  • Read the licensing agreement carefully before initiating your site.
