Autumn Reflection by Zhimin Guan
Description: Oil painting on metal (11x16) conveys “some of the awe and sense of magic” felt by the artist when out in nature. “ I hope that placing subtle, delicate, intimate, reflected landscapes images on the cool, industrial metal surface will enable viewers to contemplate the tension between fleeting beauty and the harsh reality of our human existence,” noted Guan. Zhimin Guan, born in Anhui, China, has been a professor of art at MSU Moorhead since 1998. Guan has exhibited his art throughout the United States and China in numerous museums and galleries. For the past 14 years, Zhimin Guan has had 12 one-man shows and has appeared in more than 120 selective professional exhibitions and received 25 art awards throughout the U.S. and abroad.

“North of Regent” by Wayne Gudmundson
Description: This image was made north of Regent, North Dakota in 1982. It
first appeared in a traveling exhibit and book entitled “A Long Way to See.” A
print of this image is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern
Art in New York. Photographer Wayne Gudmundson is a professor of Mass
Communications at MSUM. His work has appeared in eight different books, over 90
photographic exhibits and in multiple museum exhibits.
