The twin cities of Fargo, North Dakota, and Moorhead, Minnesota, are separated by the Red River of the North and surrounded by the richest farmland in the nation. With a combined population of 125,000, Fargo-Moorhead is a comfortable, livable metro area that is home to three colleges and serves as the cultural and commercial center for the region. Furthermore, it boasts a thriving economy: according to a recent Newsweek magazine article, it has the lowest unemployment rate in the nation.
Geographically, Fargo-Moorhead is situated at the edge of the West -- a five-minute drive and you're surrounded by the vistas of the Northern Great Plains. Minnesota's famous lake country is a half-hour drive in the other direction.
