NO DRIVING FOR SPRING LEADERS MEETING!

Due to budgetary constraints, we have had to cut some of our budget for
travel and meetings across all of our programs, Campus Leaders
included. This year’s Spring Leaders Meeting will be held entirely online
which, on the upside, means that none of you will have to drive!  We are
still planning on creating an environment in which we can all share our
achievements from the past year.  D2L will be our meeting hub, and
within will be synchronous (live) sessions as well as asynchronous
discussions and content.  You should reserve April 3 from 9-4 for
participating in synchronous sessions.  We’ll ask you to upload
materials there the week prior to the workshop.  Registration will open
the first week of March.

A GREEN RSP/ITEACH

Last week, we emphasized how RSP/ITeach would be cutting back,
saving money and getting back to basics.  In this week’s RSP/ITeach
promotional flyer (attached), we are emphasizing how GREEN this
year’s conference will be.  Forward this flyer as far and wide as you can!
(And use the electronic copy if you can--it’ll save some trees!)

GET STEM

Over the last year the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) has
partnered with the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) to develop
"getSTEM" a web portal designed to connect Minnesota educators with
science and technology businesses, in order to better prepare students
for post-secondary education programs and careers in science,
technology, engineering, and math (STEM).  Many educators are using
www.getSTEM-mn.com to network with others in the STEM community.
If you have not yet visited www.getSTEM-mn.com, now is the time to take
a few minutes to build a profile and connect with others who value STEM
education!

CONGRATULATIONS TO PINE TC & SOUTH CENTRAL COLLEGE

Technical College received a $1.9 million grant that will support
teaching advanced manufacturing technology skills to high school
students, particularly junior and seniors, and out-of-work or
underemployed adults. South Central College received a $1.9 million
grant to support a new two-year mechatronics degree program that
begins this fall.  Congratulations!!
