The Department of Economics, Law and Politics offers majors in Economics, Political Science and Paralegal. Dedicated and experienced
faculty bring a variety of backgrounds and interests within their
particular disciplines. Economics majors receive a solid foundational
understanding of economic principles and theories and can tailor their
studies toward a particular specialty area, such as business, law,
education, international affairs, public policy, finance or research.
Political Science majors learn about government institutions, public
processes, politics and political behavior in the U.S. and other
nations. The Paralegal degree is a comprehensive four-year program
approved by the American Bar Association, a distinction held by only 74
bachelor degrees in the country.
Each major provides an excellent
foundation for law school or graduate school by enhancing research and
writing skills. Students enjoy many opportunities to stretch their
education through undergraduate research, internships and
extracurricular organizations, and top performing students gain
membership into a national honor society related to their major. The
Department of Economics, Law and Politics is an academic home that
offers both fundamental knowledge for careers and challenges that expose
students to unanticipated experiences.
