The Alumni and Friends page is a new addition to the College's Web pages. We want to hear from you so we can share the good news, achievements, accomplishments, and important life events of the CEHS extended family.

Emily Dunlap, one of our elementary ed students, student taught in Basel, Switzerland this semester.  She loved it so much that she decided to stay and apply for a position.  Emily has been offered and accepted a position at the International School of Winterthur, which is just outside of Zurich.  She will be teaching 3 and 4-year-olds from January until the end of the year.  Next year, a 4th-grade position opens up for her.  Congratulations, Emily!

1991 Elementary Education alum Verna Rasmussen, has been named 2008 North Dakota Teacher of the Year.  Rasmussen teaches first grade at Westside Elementary in West Fargo.

MSUM alum Wendy Harstad, 1991 Education, received the Minnesota No Child Left Behind 2007 American Star of Teaching Award.  Wendy teaches at Circle of Life School in White Earth.

Karen Spandl, a graduate of the MSUM RN to BSN program, is featured in the May/June 2007 issue of Run Minnesota, the journal of the Minnesota Distance Running Association.  Karen ran in the inagural Fargo Marathon in 2005, and was hooked from that point on.  This year, she qualified and ran in the Boston Marathon.
