College of Education & Human Services
Foundations of Education

The Foundations of Education program provides an introductory course taken by all education majors, as well as core courses in general methods, educational psychology, social foundations, technology, and classroom management to all undergraduate licensure areas.  It also provides statistics, research methods, and educational psychology courses to a variety of master's degree programs.

Foundations also sponsors a number of outreach projects with local school districts and other educational agencies, which provide teaching, mentoring, and servcie learning opportunities for undergraduate students.

Faculty members in the program provide leadership for the Masters program in Curriculum and Instruction, and in the area of assessment.  Educational technology is a major area of responsibility for the program.  A recent study of school districts in our region documented the growing importance of technology in classroom teaching.
