Resources for All MSUM Students

Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental instruction (SI) is a series of weekly review sessions for students enrolled in historically difficult courses.  SI is provided for all students who want to improve their understanding of course material and improve their grades.  For more information, contact the Counseling Center at 477-2227.

Peer Tutoring

Free student tutors are available for many classes.  Tutors are selected by instructors or departments because of their knowledge in certain subjects.  Tutoring is located in the Academic Resource Office, Flora Frick 151.  For more information please contact the ARO at 477-2996.

The Write Site

The Write Site located in Lommen 95 provides individualized writing help for students from all college classes.  Trained writing tutors are available on a walk-in or appointment basis to offer help from pre-writing to the editing stages.  This may include interpreting assignments, brainstorming for ideas, revising drafts, and editing final copies.  They do not write the paper for you, but will work with you to help you improve your skills and confidence in the various steps of the writing process.

Counseling

The counselors at MSUM provide counseling for all students, and any counselor is available to assist students with personal, academic, or career planning needs.  You can make an appointment by calling 477-2227.  For issues or concerns about a disability, you may want to contact the Coordinator, Disability Services.
