This series of notes, puzzles, suggested activities, and tests is part of Geology 101 at MSUM.  These pages outline the basic elements of earth science understanding required for an Elementary Education degree at MSUM and  needed for teacher licensure in Minnesota.
    The focus of these notes is on conceptual understanding and its application to comprehending and interpreting the universe around us rather than on factual knowledge.
    The purpose of the class is to achieve earth science literacy through the actual practice of investigation, interpretation, and application of understanding.
