CNSA Thesis Deadlines (post proposal*)

 

Please allow at least two weeks per thesis draft

 


Classes Begin Aug. 24 Jan. 11
Last day to order academic garb from Bookstore Oct. 30 March 26
Last day to submit Form 5 to Graduate Studies Office Nov. 6 April 1
Last day to submit Form 6 to Graduate Studies Office Nov. 11 April 9
Last day for Oral Defense Examination Nov. 25 April 23
Last day to submit Thesis/Project to Library Dec. 11 May 7
Last day to submit Form 7 to Graduate Studies Office Dec. 11 May 7
Commencement Dec. 8 May 14

 

Students finishing degree requirements during Summer Semester must obtain special permission from the graduate program coordinator before scheduling final oral defense. Students finishing degree requirements during the Summer Semester who wish to participate in commencement must also obtain special permission from the Dean of Graduate Studies.

 


Typical Sequence of events for thesis completion:

Decide on a topic

September

Revise drafts with advisor

October

Advisor approves proposal

Give CNSA faculty your proposal

November 1

Make changes and then give outside committee members  your proposal

November 21

Proposal meeting (form 2) and get IRB approval

December 1

Collect data

January 12

Analyze data

February

Revise drafts of thesis (all 5 chapters) with advisor

March 1

Drafts of thesis (all 5 chapters) to CNSA faculty

March 22

Drafts of thesis (all 5 chapters) to outside committee members (form 3)

April 5

Oral defense (form 4)

April 15

Deliver thesis copies to the library
