Information about all student organizations or about starting a new one is available through the Student Activities Office. Visit their website for more information.
Some art supplies (paper, Texas Markers, etc.) are available for student organization use in the Activities Resource Center, CMU 225. Additionally, you can request an organization budget or supplemental funding through the Student Activity Budget Committee (SABC) to purchase supplies.
The ARC is a space provided to student organizations for making signs or decorations. Some supplies are provided or you can bring your own. Additionally, there are computers that student organizations can use. Currently registered student organizations are welcome to use the ARC. It is open from 8am-4:30pm during the week. At night and on the weekends a building manager can unlock it for you.

Students, staff and faculty can reserve rooms in the student union at no cost if the space is being used for an MSUM-related purpose (such as an organization meeting or event). For student organizations, we ask that an officer make the reservation or designate an event coordinator who will be the primary contact for the event. Additionally, the general public and outside organizations are able to reserve space in the student union for events and meetings. Non-MSUM groups will be charged a rental fee and need to follow MSUM and Comstock Memorial Union policies.
You can stop at the Administrative Office or call 218.477.2261 to make your reservation over the phone. You can also go to the online reservation page and submit your information.
The status on your room means that we currently have the room on hold for you. Before we can change it to “Confirmed” you will need to meet with someone on the Event Services staff to provide room set up details. Please note that your reservation will not show up in the public event calendar on the web until it is confirmed.
The student union can supply a variety of equipment from staging, sound and light to technical needs like computers, projectors, and TVs. It is best to visit with an Event Services staff member about the equipment you will need for your event.
The student union does not take advance reservations for study groups or individual studying. However, you can stop by the Administrative Office and see if there are unreserved rooms that you could use for studying. Also, the many lounges in the student union are great study spaces!
MSUM and the student union have a contract with Sodexo Campus Dining Services to provide food at on-campus events. Sodexo may sub-contract restaurants or caterers certified in commercial food preparation for those services beyond their capabilities. Sodexo shall retain authority and responsibility for serving such food and for meeting all health codes related to food service. If you have questions about the services Sodexo can provide, contact them at 218.477.2852 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

Any items turned in or found by visitors or the building staff will be at the Administrative Office.

The Student Union and Activities will hire students for the upcoming year during the spring semester. Additionally, there may be a few positions open during the year that will be advertised on the Dragon Jobs website.
All oversize posters and banners must be approved at the Administrative Office. Maximum sizes: Horizontal Banners – 3 ft x 7 ft, Vertical Banners – 5 ft x 3 ft. Unless prior approval from the Student Union & Activities Director has been granted, banners and oversize posters larger than the listed maximum sizes will not be approved.
All posters must be brought to the Administrative Office for approval. Any posters hung without being dated and initialed by a staff member will be removed. See the full guidelines for posters.
You will need to reserve the space through the Administration Office. Please make your reservation prior to printing to ensure that there is space available for your decal at the time you want it.
It is free for MSUM student organizations and MSUM departments to place an ad. Ads should advertise a special event and can run for up to two weeks. Ads should be jpegs sized at 1280x720 pixels to display correctly. The ad must be in a horizontal format. To submit ads or ask a question, the Marketing Department via email
The student union is a great place for a variety of events. Banquets, meetings, dances, parties, wedding receptions, bingo nights, conferences, and just about anything else you can think of! Student organizations plan events throughout the year as do MSUM departments and offices. The Dragon Entertainment Group and AfterDark also use the student union for many of their programs. It is possible to host a fundraiser on campus and/or in the student union. Student organizations should contact the Office of Student Activities at 218.477.2790 or the Assistant Director of Leadership and Organizations at 218.477.2120 to discuss ideas for fundraisers. Please note that some rules apply to fundraising based on state and university policy. You can also refer to the Student Organization Handbook for information.

Three water filling stations are available for you. Two are located on the second floor of the student union and one is located near the restrooms in the Kise Hallway.
