  • Carol Gaede Scholarship 

    This award honors Dr. Gaede for her long-standing commitment to excellence and learning in the disciplines of speech communication and theatre arts. The scholarship honors academics, artistic/creative, and/or service achievement in a student who is a declared major in the Communication Studies Department. Scholarships range from $500 to $1,000.

    Eligibility:

    1. Be declared majors in the Communication Studies Department;
    2. Have a cumulate GPA of 3.0 or higher, and GPA of 3.25 or higher in major and liberal arts;
    3. Have made outstanding contributions on a regular basis in one or more of the following areas: academics, artistic/creative, and/or service achievement.

    Communication Studies Scholarship 

    The Communication Studies Scholarship recognizes new students who have declared, or will declare, a major in communication studies.
    Eligibility:

    1. High school seniors OR incoming transfer students who will be majoring in communication studies at MSUM;
    2. Current MSUM students who have recently declared the major;
    3. Recent transfer students who have declared a major in communication studies;
    4. This award is available to students who have not yet completed two semesters as a communication studies major.

    Scholarship Application


    Delmar J. Hansen Scholarship  

    These scholarships are made possible by donations to the Delmar J. Hansen endowment fund. The scholarship recognizes outstanding academic achievement and contributions to the department and community through leadership and active participation in events and organizations. Scholarships range from $500 to $1,000.

    Eligibility:

    1. Be declared majors in the Communication Studies Department;
    2. Have a cumulate GPA of 3.0 or higher, and GPA of 3.25 or higher in major and liberal arts;
    3. Have made outstanding contributions on a regular basis to department-sponsored programs and activities;
    4. Have participated in other university and/or community activities.
