• Minnesota State University. Moorhead, Minnesota. Faculty Grant Award to attend the 48th American Translators Association (ATA) Conference in San Francisco, California. November 2007.
   
• LASA (Latin American Studies Association) Ecuadorian Section gave me a $500 grant and sponsored the panel “Voces de mujeres ecuatorianas: Estudios literarios, lingüísticos y migratorios” at the XXVII International Congress in Montreal, Canada.  I organized and chaired this panel. September, 2007.
   
• St. Olaf College. Northfield, Minnesota. The Office of the Dean of Community Life and Diversity invited me, and funded my trip, to participate in the “Undergraduate Scholars Program - Faculty Panel.” April 2007.
   
• Arizona State University. Tempe, Arizona. The ASU Graduate Program “Preparing Future Faculty” invited me, and funded my trip, to participate in the New Faculty Panel. February 2007.
   
• Stanford University. Palo Alto, California. The Center for Latin American Studies at Stanford University invited me, and funded my trip, to deliver the paper “Términos culturales en las traducciones de Jorge Icaza” due to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Jorge Icaza’s birth. Palo Alto, California. December 2006.
