Laptop Initiative
The Construction
Management program will be requiring junior-level students to
purchase laptop computers starting

All
CM majors who enroll in CM 330, Construction Estimating I, will be required to purchase and
utilize laptop computers in their CM coursework.
CM 330 is the beginning of a 4-semester sequence

Like the construction
industry, MSUM’s CM program can benefit from the added
flexibility and increased efficiency of wireless technology.
With the remodeling of Hagen Hall, wireless technology
can be integrated into the design of the communications systems
giving students continuous access and resulting in better
utilization of classroom space, lab space, and the $900,000
worth of software donated to the CM program. Students will have
access to the same software used in industry, and wireless
technology will allow the CM program to better emulate industry
practice and have more flexible access.
