TRYOUT INFORMATION

• Times and Dates:
  • Summer tryouts for the MSUM Cheer Team will be held on August 11th from Noon to 4:00 at Nemzek Hall on the MSUM Campus. Please see Tryout Link for additional information and for a printable tryout application.
  • You only need to attend ONE session
• Place:
  • Alex Nemzek Hall on the corner of 17th Street and 8th Avenue South in Moorhead, MN
• What to Bring:
  • Insurance card or number/carrier information
  • Application fee of $50, which is refundable only if you do not make the squad
  • Acceptance letter for all incoming freshman or student ID for returning students
  • Comfortable clothes—nothing baggy
  • Clean cheer shoes or sneakers
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and have fun!!
• Required Skills:
  • Toe touch and double-toe
  • Pike and pike to toe
  • Stunting—either base, back spot, or flyer
  • Motions—you will learn cheers at try-outs
  • Dancing ability—a good sense of rhythm is helpful!! 
  • Tumbling—(recommended, not required)
