Idealist's Graduate Degrees for the Public Good Fairs

These fairs are for new, aspiring, and mid-career nonprofit and public service professionals, including interns and volunteers. The fairs are free, open to the public, and run from 5-8 pm in each location. At the fairs, attendees will have the opportunity to: 

  • Meet with representatives from and learn about various social change/public interest graduate degree programs.
  • Attend a graduate school Q & A
  • Attend a test prep workshop by The Princeton Review

Winona State University and Rochester Public Schools awards up to 16 fellowships annually
to Resident Teachers for each school year.

Elementary education graduates eligible for Minnesota licensure will be awarded $11,000 in addition to waiver of tuition for 32 graduate credits. Residents will be assigned their own classrooms in ISD 535 elementary or sixth grade middle school sites in Rochester, MN. For example, those selected for 2007 – 2008 start graduate classes Summer Session I (2007) and will complete their graduate work Summer Session II (2008).

For over 40 years, the Institute for Humane Studies has been helping bright undergraduate and graduate students interested in individual liberty expand their intellectual horizons.  Whether it's financial assistance through scholarships up to $12,000, career development through paid Public Policy or Journalism Internships, or the stimulating atmosphere of a FREE Summer Seminar, students rave about their IHS experience.

The Institute promotes the discussion of liberty across a broad range of disciplines; encouraging understanding, open inquiry of rigorous scholarship, and creative problem solving.  Topics may include globalization, the environment, art & culture, and more.

 Career Services received a copy of the Guide to UK Graduate Degrees and information on how to register with the British Council for those interested in pursuing a degree in the UK.  The British Council USA is the United Kingdom's international organization for education opportunities and cultural relations.

 The following programs, which include separate "taught" and "research" pathways, offer graduate students the opportunity to investigate Europe in its entirety, from European integration and the public policy to European cinema and poetry.  "Highly recommended" by the European Commission, the Centre has been awarded a number of prestigious scholarships for the Master's programs and PhD research (€29,500 per year, plus allowances):

24 Marie Curie Fellowships for Master's Programs (One-year award)
12 Marie Curie Fellowships for PhD Research (Two-year award)
