DragonCareers:
To register with our office, you need to select the DragonCareers logo on our Web Site www.mnstate.edu/career. Directions at this site will ask you to print, read, complete and sign/date an authorization form and return a hard copy of it to MSUM Career Services. Then you will enter the DragonCareers Web Site and complete the process to register at your convenience. Please use Internet Explorer.

If you do not have an existing on-line account, scroll to "Click Here to Register!" when you are in DragonCareers.

Official Transcript(s):

If an employer requires an official transcript, contact the Records Office. You must provide the Records Office with a written request that includes your signature. Your signed request also must include the following information: 1.) Dragon ID number or Social Security number; 2.) your current address (so the Records Office can let you know that the official transcript has been sent); 3.) the address to which you want the official transcript sent and, if possible, the name and title of the person who should receive it. You can provide the signed request by stopping at the Records Office in Owens Hall, by mailing your request to the Records Office, Minnesota State University Moorhead, 1104 7th Avenue South, Moorhead, MN 56563 or by FAXing to the Records Office 218.477.2941. You must provide a signed request every time you need an official transcript sent.

(If you enrolled at Minnesota State University Moorhead in Fall of 1984 or later, your transcript is electronic and will be on MSUM transcript paper if printed. Be sure to update your resume with the current name of the University which is Minnesota State University Moorhead — as shown with no punctuation in the name.)

References:

Provide a copy of your resume to current or recent administrators or an immediate supervisor who could write a favorable letter of reference for your self-managed credential file. Give each reference writer a stamped envelope addressed to YOU. Ask the writer of the reference to:

  1. Use business, agency, school, or university letterhead
  2. Use letter-quality printing
  3. Make two originals—one for you to copy from and one to keep in a safe place
If you would like to visit with a Career Specialist regarding the content/format of your self-managed credential file, make an appointment or call 218.477.2131.
JOB SEARCH TIPS
Many public and private schools/colleges/universities, businesses and government agencies are listing their job openings on the Internet. Other sources of vacancies in education can be found by selecting the Job Vacancies and then Education Jobs links on the Career Services Web Site www.mnstate.edu/career. EdPost and MASA are two links under K-12 that list teaching jobs in Minnesota. Project Connect lists teaching jobs nationally and we will provide the password on request to our alumni. Internet access will allow you to find openings of interest to you in states that you would like to live in. We encourage you to watch all of these sources weekly.
