Evaluation Procedure

 

After receipt of the Internship Agreement, the Internship Coordinator will provide an override for registration purposes.  After the override is provided, the student may register electronically for the internship.

 

EVALUATION PROCEDURE - Business Internships

 

  1. The student intern will submit a daily journal which will include a description of responsibilities performed and insights gained when fulfilling these responsibilities. Think about how responsibilities relate to courses you have had.  Suggested Outline

  2. The student will write an analytical paper at the conclusion of the internship describing the overall experience and an analysis of how learning objectives were accomplished.

  3. The intern sponsor will evaluate the intern at midterm.

  4. The intern sponsor will submit a written evaluation at the termination of the internship. The form will be provided by the university coordinator.

 

EVALUATION PROCEDURE - Accounting  Internships

 

  1. The student intern will submit a daily journal which will include a description of responsibilities performed and insights gained when fulfilling these responsibilities. Think about how responsibilities relate to courses you have had. 

  2. At the conclusion of the internship, submit a professional quality self report of the internship experience to the Internship Coordinator.  Guidelines are as follows:

Purpose:    To evaluate your internship experience.
Distribution:    Internship Coordinator (may also be reviewed by      Department Chair.
Timing:    Submit near the end of the internship, but not  later than three weeks after the internship is completed.
Contents:

  • Description of the work performed

  • Adequacy of your preparation (e.g., most helpful courses, least helpful courses, courses you wished you'd had.

  • Effect(s) of the internship on your career choice

  • Suggestion(s) for changes in the accounting program and/or internship program.

  1. The intern sponsor will evaluate the intern at midterm.

  2. The intern sponsor will submit a written evaluation at the termination of the internship. The form will be provided by the university coordinator.
