Last year Barnier served as Dragon interim Director of Athletics at the request of President Dr. Roland Barden. In addition to her administrative duties at MSU Moorhead, Barnier continues to participate in the life of intercollegiate athletics at the highest level as well.

A 2006 graduate of the NCAA’s Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Females and a 2003 graduate of NACWAA/HERS Leadership Institute, Barnier was a member of the Central Region Women’s Soccer Advisory Committee from 2003-06 and was recently appointed for a second four-year term to the NCAA Division II Track and Field Committee. She completed her first four-year term in 2002.

A national collegiate track champion and a former member of the athletic administration at Abilene Christian University, Barnier also volunteered as assistant track and cross-country coach during her stay at MSUM.

Barnier was a five-time NCAA Division II national indoor track champion at Abilene Christian and collected 20 All-American certificates. An inductee into the NCAA Division II Track and Field Hall of Fame, her five indoor track championships are the most for any female athlete at the NCAA Division II level.
